Job Summary
Ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the user of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.
Essential Functions
- Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems
- Oversee the daily performance of computer systems including servers, access points, desktops, laptops, thin clients, switches, etc.
- Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Desktop Email Client Setup and Configuration with O365
- Manage user accounts as per company’s policy
- Lock, unlock, and reset passwords for Active Directory, VPN, LDAP
- Grant access to network resources like files, computers and printers
- Manage and follow up with users on their open helpdesk cases
- Familiarity and comfort in working with vendors
- Remote Access (VPN, Remote Desktop Connection, Terminal Server)
- Provide support and user access for ERP system, badge access, and network access
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in System Administration or other related field in IT
- Proficient with Office 365 products: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Understanding of WAN, LAN architectures, IP protocols, telecommunication, and network topologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in System Administration or other related field in IT
- 3+ years system configuration and/or system administration experience
- 3+ years experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Experience with Globalshop ERP or similar manufacturing ERP platforms
