We are looking for an experienced (10-year min) Mechanic who takes pride in his abilities to maintain and understand the equipment he is working on. Soiltesting Inc. is a Geotechnical Drilling Contractor working throughout southern New England and New York since 1958. This is a 40-hour per weak position but may require some OT. The more versatile the person's skills, the more opportunity for OT.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Perform and record routine maintenance according to schedule.
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Repair equipment as needed.
- WELDING, welding/build-up auger tools.
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
- Keep the work area clean and safe.
- Adhere to company work safety policies.
- Provide your own set of basic hand tools.
Qualifications:
- Experience conducting routine Heavy Equipment and truck repair/maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting Heavy Equipment and trucks.
- Practical mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Sound mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The ability to operate Heavy Equipment, a CDL, and or welding fabrication ability; IS A PLUS.
