This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies at NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.Qualifications: The purpose of this position is to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the full performance level of the target grade. In a controlled work situation and under the direction of the first line supervisor, work leader and/or mechanic, or journey worker, you will perform progressively more difficult work tasks associated with this trade. These tasks are oriented around a list of work processes approved for each trade.
At the WG-02 level, you will be assigned to a journey worker who works with and instructs you in performing duties common to the trade in a safe, efficient manner. Detailed instructions are provided on new assignments along with close supervision and detailed review.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by: 1) Assisting with repairing, maintaining, and overhauling complex systems on a wide assortment of HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT and specialized equipment and systems in accordance with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles; 2) Assisting with diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions in HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT; 3) Assisting in conducting functional and performance tests on completed work assignments.
