The successful individual for this position will become a part-time member of the Heavy Equipment and Trucking training programs and will be essential for the dynamics of the programs. This individual will need a wide range of skills that pertain to the safe operations of the USU Blanding Campus Heavy Equipment and Trucking program within Professional Career and Technical Education. The individual accepting this position must be able to change duties several times in a day. The individual needs to be safety minded and able to follow instructions with minimum supervision.
Trucking Yard Maintenance:
- Ensure the upkeep of the truck training yard by painting lines, rearranging cones, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Wash and maintain semi-trucks and equipment regularly to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Conduct painting tasks for Equipment and general yard areas, ensuring a neat and professional appearance.
Fleet Support:
- Assist in fleet maintenance activities as directed.
- Aid in mechanical repairs for semi-trucks and equipment as required, collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure operational efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Undertake other assigned duties by the Director, contributing to the smooth functioning of daily operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to do yard and shop maintenance
- Minimal computer skills and be able to communicate by email
- Driver License in good standing and no accidents in last two years
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with power washing trucks or equipment
- Experience with mechanic shop tools or mechanic shop assistant
- Semi-truck or Heavy Equipment operation capabilities
- Commercial Driver License and/or Heavy Equipment Experience and/or Certifications

Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments

This position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions, such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Employees work outside and will not be protected from weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods.
