Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist with operation, control and monitoring of Heat treating and related equipment.
  • Prepare customer supplied parts for processing.
  • Load and unload furnaces, bins, baskets, fixtures, etc.
  • Follow written procedures on shop orders and/or customer paperwork.
  • Bring any irregularities or non-conformities to attention of supervisor or management.
  • Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.
  • Assist with performing equipment maintenance as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Correctly Interpret Work Instructions & Docs
  • Maintain Lot Traceability
  • Maintain Production Logs
  • Hand Tools (Wire cutters, screwdrivers, etc)
  • Brinell hardness tester
  • Electrical Conductivity Tester
  • Cleanliness/Organization (6S)
  • Basic understanding of furnace operations
  • Load Parts (Proper Racking)
  • Part & Material Verification (Router/Print Reading)
  • Perform Basic Visual Inspection
  • Proper Handling (Nicks & Dings)
  • OPM (Thermocouple, etc.)
  • Furnace operations
  • Loading Recipe
  • Full Equipment Setup
  • Intermediate Print Reading
  • Production Tracking
  • Job Planning (Family Runs, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before management and other Company employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, taste and smell.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or balance.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

The DOT/FAA regulations require all employees, regular and temporary, in safety-sensitive positions, to be included in the Honeywell Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • HS diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3 years experience as a Heat Treat technician
