Healthy Kids School-Based Clinic Coordinator/Registered Nurse
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered nurse with a minimum of a bachelor of science in nursing degree
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a K-12 education system, community health, and/or medical clinic preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Grant writing experience preferred
- Required travel to clinic locations within the district in a timely fashion. Drivers license with own vehicle needed
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Health Services Manager
SUPERVISES: Healthy Kids Clinic Assistants
JOB GOALS: Performs the full range of professional duties required to support the Healthy Kids School-Based Clinics, including the performance of complex and/or sensitive activities; managing large-scale, long-term projects; and performs related duties as required or assigned.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and supervises the multifaceted activities to support the Healthy Kids School-Based Clinics in direct collaboration with the Health Services Manager.
- Plays a key role in developing strategies for achieving the goals contained within the Iowa City Community School District Strategic Plan and is accountable for outcomes.
- Assists the Health Services Manager with the planning and implementation of the ongoing evaluation and program initiatives including both short- and long-term objectives.
- Leads projects, and may allocate resources - physical, fiscal, and human
- Contributes expertise to the department and can serve as a departmental resource for administration and all staff.
- Supervises and Evaluates staff within the department
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and supervises the multifaceted activities to support the school-based clinic in direct collaboration with the Health Services Manager.
- Coordinate patient care plans by liaising with the clinic Medical Director to ensure patient needs are met.
- Plays a key role in developing strategies for achieving the quality of patient care provided by the clinic.
- Facilitate quarterly advisory board meetings and stay up to date on all business initiatives related to the clinic.
- Facilitate the clinic's Vaccine for Children Program.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, IRIS, Iowa Volunteer Healthcare Provider programs, HIPPA, FERPA, and other agencies or programs as required.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of relationships with internal and external partners.
- Research, write, and manage grants.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 256 days. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
