Healthy Kids School-Based Clinic Senior Specialist/Registered Nurse
QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Health Services Manager
SUPERVISES: Healthy Kids Clinic Assistants
JOB GOALS: Provide oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Healthy Kids School-Based Health Clinics. Promote the overall efficiency of the school-based health care system and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

Healthy Kids School-Based Clinic Senior Specialist/Registered Nurse
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered nurse with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a K-12 education system, community health, and/or medical clinic preferred
- Leadership experience or project management preferred
- Grant writing experience preferred
- Required travel to clinic locations within the district in a timely fashion. Drivers license with own vehicle needed
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May represent the Healthy Kids Clinic in meetings, planning sessions, or formal presentations
- May act as the lead in team, project, or program activities
- Oversees specific job responsibilities listed below
- Provides expertise within specific functions and responsibilities of the department
- Serves as a resource for school-based administration and staff
- Supervision and evaluation may be required
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and supervises the multifaceted activities to support the school-based clinic in direct collaboration with the Health Services Manager
- Coordinate patient care plans by liaising with the clinic Medical Director to ensure patient needs are met
- Plays a key role in developing strategies for achieving the quality of patient care provided by the clinic
- Facilitate quarterly advisory board meetings and stay up to date on all business initiatives related to the clinic
- Facilitate the clinic's Vaccine for Children Program
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, IRIS, Iowa Volunteer Healthcare Provider programs, HIPPA, FERPA, and other agencies or programs as required
- Research, write, and manage grants
- Participate in professional learning opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 256 days. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
