Healthy Kids School-Based Clinic Senior Specialist/Registered Nurse
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Registered nurse with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a K-12 education system, community health, and/or medical clinic preferred
3. Leadership experience or project management preferred
4. Grant writing experience preferred
5. Required travel to clinic locations within the district in a timely fashion. Drivers license with own vehicle needed
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

REPORTS TO: Health Services Manager
SUPERVISES: Healthy Kids Clinic Assistants
JOB GOALS: Provide oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Healthy Kids School-Based Health Clinics. Promote the overall efficiency of the school-based health care system and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May represent the Healthy Kids Clinic in meetings, planning sessions, or formal presentations

1. May act as the lead in team, project, or program activities
2. Oversees specific job responsibilities listed below
3. Provides expertise within specific functions and responsibilities of the department
4. Serves as a resource for school-based administration and staff
5. Supervision and evaluation may be required

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plans and supervises the multifaceted activities to support the school-based clinic in direct collaboration with the Health Services Manager
2. Coordinate patient care plans by liaising with the clinic Medical Director to ensure patient needs are met
3. Plays a key role in developing strategies for achieving the quality of patient care provided by the clinic
4. Facilitate quarterly advisory board meetings and stay up to date on all business initiatives related to the clinic
5. Facilitate the clinic's Vaccine for Children Program
6. Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, IRIS, Iowa Volunteer Healthcare Provider programs, HIPPA, FERPA, and other agencies or programs as required
7. Research, write, and manage grants
8. Participate in professional learning opportunities
9. Other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. 256 days. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
