The Opportunity
This role will support a high performance analytics team by gathering, compiling, modeling, validating, and analyzing data needed by the company. The data is then used to understand the current trends in the health care system and to make well-informed decisions. This role will also quality check the work of junior analysts.
You Will
- Work with a variety of tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, and Databricks) to access data, write queries, develop programming logic, run reports, manipulate, and analyze large datasets. Responsible for routine research and analysis of Medicare Advantage and healthcare data including but not limited to encounters, membership, provider, claims, authorizations, healthcare program/quality information, pharmacy, and financial information.
- Retrieve, organize, and manipulate data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other databases. This will require advanced programming to prepare data for reporting and analysis. Deliver actionable, supportable findings within tight deadlines and changing requirements.
- Conduct data management, quality improvement studies, statistical analysis, and report generation. Present findings to senior analysts as well as management.
- Conduct investigative research to uncover root causes, interpret results, identify trends, and make recommendations for action.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other analysts.
- Supports customer needs for what-if scenario analysis by developing analytical tools/models.
- Ensure understanding of business needs by proactively monitoring and clarifying the technical responses to business requirements on all Medicare related projects.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Actively supports the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.
Requirements
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent career experience, required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of analytical experience, or 3+ years of analytical experience in a Healthcare/Managed Care environment required.
- Advanced skills inMS Office required
- MS SQL Server (Strong command over T-SQL) required
- SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services experience required.
- Alteryx and Databricks experience preferred.
- Tableau BI tool experience required
- Ability to effectively interact with, and present findings to customers at all levels of the organization including operational managers, medical directors and executives required.
- Clinical code knowledge (ICD, CPT, Rev Codes, etc.) related to medical claims/utilization data strongly preferred.
- Experience with managed care contract terms/analysis a plus.
- Strong technical abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask.
- Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, required.
