Job Summary: Responsible for performing a wide range of clerical and other health services tasks. Functions as the Wellness Center Receptionist.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers.
- Adheres to all PRH and CSD policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.
- Prepares medical records and correspondence, patient charts, health utilization reports and letters, and other technical materials as necessary.
- Greets students; ensures sign-in system is maintained; notifies practitioners of student arrival and performs triage functions to alert medical staff of emergencies or urgent concerns.
- Enters data into CIS using a personnel computer when necessary.
- Answers telephones, schedules both on center and off-center appointments, distributes medical appointments and other miscellaneous clerical duties to include but not limited to filing and mail pickup and delivery.
- Provides customer service to staff and students entering the Wellness Center
- Maintains confidentiality of all student records.
- Assists with the scanning of student records into CIS under "Health E-Folder."
- Maintains outside insurance for eligible students including Medicaid and other third-party insurance companies. This includes but is not limited to applications, maintaining financial folders and documenting insurance information into Center Information System (CIS)
- Follows through on student requests for medical information and maintains the HIPAA disclosure log.
- Keeps accurate logs to be sent to the Regional/National/Corporate Offices as needed.
- Assists in entering orders through Cost Point for medical supplies, maintains and orders office/clerical and other supplies as needed.
- Coordinates with the Student Records Department to ensure that all departmental paperwork for passes and leaves are submitted in a timely manner.
Requirements
Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent.
Preferred: Two years' experience in medical office environment with experience in medical terminology and knowledge of outside insurance including Medicaid and other third-party insurance companies.
Knowledge: Ability to perform secretarial duties without immediate and constant supervision. Ability to type accurately at a fast speed. Computer literate: ability to operate word processing applications and Excel. Familiar with medical terminology. Ability to effectively relate to students. Knowledge of office procedures and good organizational skills. Ability to deal effectively with the public and government officials. Sound business telephone techniques. Ability to proofread and correct grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors.
Salary Description
$17.06 an hour
