Full-time Director of Mental Health & Wellness Center will direct the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health and Wellness Department by supporting the MENTAL HEALTH counselors in their clinical roles and managing the business operations. Job Summary:
The Director of the Mental Health and Wellness Center will direct the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health and Wellness Department by supporting the MENTAL HEALTH counselors in their clinical roles and managing the business operations.
Director Responsibilities:
- Directs the day-to-day operations of the program ensuring compliance with program and administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives.
- Supervises and evaluates employee performance and work collaboratively with each employee on their personal and professional goals. Makes programmatic and administrative recommendations to the CEO in accordance with the agency/program goals and objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements program and administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives.
- Oversees quality assurance in the programs service delivery including clinical care and documentation.
- Oversees the programs productivity to meet established standards and to ensure continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services.
- Adheres to the Hospital’s policies and procedures.
- Serves on committees, working groups, as assigned.
- Adheres to the hospital’s code of ethics and complies with the state MENTAL HEALTH code.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, skill in working with the MENTAL HEALTH population, and with individuals undergoing acute episodes OF MENTAL HEALTH distress.
- Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community MENTAL HEALTH team and to represent the agency in the community.
- Skills in supervising, evaluating, and disciplining staff of professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
- Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
- Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
- Knowledge of and the ability to comply with the State of Iowa MENTAL HEALTH code.
Education and Experience:
- Mental Health or Healthcare experience required. Bachelor’s degree in a MENTAL HEALTH discipline or healthcare field preferred. At least two years of a supervisory level preferred. Professional experience in the MENTAL HEALTH or healthcare field preferred.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Skills: Excellent communication, telephone, and customer service skills required. Proficiency with computers, typing, and operating standard office equipment required. Must speak and read English fluently.
