The opportunity:
The Health Information Administrator is responsible for the efficient, accurate, timely, consistent, complete collection of various media of Health Information from a variety of external sources. Health Information Administrator personnel must successfully orchestrate all administrative activities associated with the release of information process.
This role will require you to be on-site at the Baltimore office 2-3 days per week.
How you will contribute:
Develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships with assigned advisory team, assisting with priority records requests
Contact external facilities to coordinate the collection of member Health Information
Request select records earmarked as priority within 3-5 business days
Communicate difficulties in record collection with Health Advisor through email and phone conversations to ensure a complete patient health record
Consistently track, monitor, and document release of information processes used to obtain member Health Information
Review medical authorizations, and consent forms for accuracy and completeness, alerting health advisor whenever a specific form is required
Monitor the Integrity and protect the privacy of collected member Health Information
Receive, review, scan, and categorize collected member Health Information into appropriate specialty section in secure electronic health record
Upload CD imaging to Cloud storage
Effectively manage activities to ensure timely accurate closing of assigned release of information activities list
Complete daily productivity spreadsheets as assigned
Perform ongoing quality checks, auditing and reporting of results as assigned
Research and update provider and facility HIM contact information as required
Pay for medical records and track in database, providing receipts to accounting department at end of month
Download medical records from external databases and copy service portals, convert to correct file format and add to database
Process incoming mail and faxes
Serves as a liaison to Advisors and other medical support staff to facility complete, timely and accurate Health Information
Keeps updated on new laws that pertain to medical records
Maintains success rate of 85% of routine and 90% of priority requests closed before the due date
What you will bring with you:
High School Diploma, with 3 years’ experience in Health Information Management with a specific focus on release of information. Associate Degree in Health Information Technology or related curriculum highly preferred.
Working knowledge of release of information state, federal, and local regulations.
Experience with electronic medical records and scanning highly preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Customer service oriented with exquisite telephone presentation.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, astute problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task required.
Must be detailed oriented with excellent time management skills.
Strong work ethic with dynamic team environment interaction skills.
Must be able to adapt to and demonstrate proficiency in new and existing technologies that are integral to performing assigned tasks. Ability to operate office machines (copier, fax, computer, etc.).

Southern region: $39,000 – 52,700 annually
Central region: $41,100 – 55,500 annually
Northern region: $43,900 – 59,300 annually
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $37,200 – 50,200 annually.
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $43,900 – 59,300 annually.
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $41,100 – 55,500 annually.
