The primary responsibilities of the Healthcare Technician I are to:
- Support our patients as they work toward the goals and objectives of their individual treatment plans.
- Manage the milieu on each unit through close observation and interaction with all patients.
- Assist patients with daily living skills.
- Other duties as delegated by and completed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
This posting is for multiple vacancies. The Health Care Technician I will work one of the following:
8-hour days (6:45am - 3:15 pm) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required
12-hour days (6:45am - 7:15 pm) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required
8-hour evenings (2:45pm - 11:15pm) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required
8-hour nights (10:45 pm - 7:15 am) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required
12-hour nights (6:45pm - 7:15 am) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
About the facility:
JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 37 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
- the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
- the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
- or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
