Primary Responsibilities:
Serves as a Health and Fitness Specialist for a Federal Government Customer. Work locations are in Northern Virginia. Specific duties and functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design personalized fitness programs tailored to individual clients' goals, needs, and abilities.- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' fitness levels, health status, and any potential limitations or risks.
- Instruct and demonstrate proper exercise techniques, ensuring clients perform movements safely and effectively.
- Motivate and inspire clients to stay committed to their fitness goals through encouragement, support, and accountability.
- Monitor clients' progress over time, adjusting workout plans as needed to optimize results and prevent plateaus.
- Provide guidance on nutrition, hydration, and lifestyle habits to complement clients' fitness routines and enhance overall health.
- Educate clients on the principles of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and injury prevention to empower them with knowledge.
- Offer guidance and support for proper recovery strategies, including rest, stretching, and recovery modalities.
- Stay current with industry trends, research, and best practices in exercise science to continually refine and improve training methodologies.
- Maintain professional certifications and credentials, adhering to ethical standards and guidelines for personal training practice.
Qualifications:
- TS/SCI + polygraph is required.
- Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential from a reputable certifying organization such as NASM, ACE, ACSM, or NSCA.
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of exercise physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and nutrition principles.
- Experience in conducting fitness assessments, including cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing personalized exercise programs based on clients' goals, abilities, and health status.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate, educate, and support clients.
- Ability to adapt training techniques to accommodate individuals with diverse backgrounds, fitness levels, and physical limitations.
- CPR/AED certification and knowledge of emergency procedures to ensure client safety.
