Form of workPosition Type/Expected Hours Of Work - Full-time 40 hours per week, including some holiday work, depending on needs related to the contract. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday; 3:00pm-11:00pm.
Qualifications - Experience in janitorial work preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty. Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time. Must provide your own transportation to work. Must be able to read and identify MSD sheets and various chemical labels and markings. Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies. Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light custodial equipment.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance - Authorized to work in the United States.
Summary/Objective - Perform general cleaning tasks and maintain work areas as assigned. Oversee supervision of Janitorial crew.
Essential Functions -
- Provide direct supervision for a janitorial crew of 10-12 staff for the County Cleaning Contract.
- Oversight of the cleaning crew for the Jefferson County agency assigned cleaning.
- Ability to maintain quality cleaning standards outlined in the scope of work.
- Ability to use high and low speed maintenance equipment as assigned.
- Ability to use carpet cleaning equipment as assigned.
- Sweep/mop/dust/vacuum/trash removal/window cleaning as assigned.
- Perform restroom disinfectant and cleaning as assigned.
- Monitor use of equipment and report any malfunctions or problems to the Contracts Manager.
- Practice Safety First.
Work Environment - This position operates in all areas of the Jefferson County Office Building, Human Services Building, and Old Courthouse. In addition, this position will oversee the facilities at 350 Gaffney, 380 Gaffney, 420 Gaffney, 968 Bradley and St. Anthony’s.
