Our client is an amazing major non-profit organization that provides early child-care services to those of low-income communities, scattered throughout California. The locations are Chatsworth, Van Nuys, and Lancaster.
They are looking for different levels of teachers to join them!
Teacher's Aides- 12 units in Early Childhood Education/ Development or related field
Teacher's Assistants- 24 units in Early Childhood Education/ Development or related field
Teachers- bachelor’s degree and 24 units of Childhood Education/ Development or related field
While working under the Center Director, you will be responsible for providing quality preschool services for children enrolled in their Head Start program. You will promote activities designed to stimulate learning in all developmental domains and encourage Family Engagement in all aspects of the program.
You will also:
- Provide ongoing assessment of progress and facilitate transition activities into kindergarten.
- Plan and implement center services, and ensure the center operates successfully from opening to closing.
- Developing individual goals for the children and curriculum to age-appropriate activities that may take place indoors or outdoors.
- Adapting the curriculum to meet all children's needs, including risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations.
- Partnering with parents to provide care for all preschoolers, including feeding and diapering.
- Provide and participate in all classroom and parent conferences, MDTM, home visits, IEP/IFSP processes, and meetings.
- Ensuring required reports are adequate and timely submitted to the Agency and the State.
- Submitting weekly lesson plans that are accurate and timely to the Center Director for Review
- Ensure consistent adherence to Suspected Child Abuse reporting policies, procedures, and documentation by all center and regional staff.
This is a full-time, temporary position until June.
Regular shift Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:45 pm (Overtime offered)
If you are not able, hours can be Monday to Friday 8:00 am-4:30pm
This is what we are looking for in your candidacy:
- You have at least 1+ years of experience working with families and children in a preschool setting, or other related work experience in child development.
- Bonus, you are bilingual in English and Spanish OR English and Armenian
- You hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate within 30 days of hire.
- You hold and maintain a current California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Teacher Permit or above based on the CTC Matrix upon hire or apply within 60 days of hire.
- You can keep calm in an emergency.
- You are open to occasional travel, which includes attending meetings, training, and sponsored events.
