Minimum Qualifications
A flexible attitude with good leadership, team, communication, supervisory, and programming skills.
- At least two years’ previous experience working with at-risk, culturally diverse youth preferably in a residential setting.
Requires a valid driver’s license & a driving record acceptable to the University’s insurance carrier.
- Commitment to being a positive role model, helping students prepare for college, and inclusivity.
- Participation in training June 10-15.

- Graduate status preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position Purpose
Live in and continually supervise the PUB residential environment (high school minors and staff).
Job Duties
- Assist in the selection of the Peer Mentors (PMs).
- Supervise PMs and one Night-Watch Person including facilitating team meetings and performance reviews for the purpose of professional development.
- Partner with PUB’s Project Advisor to present initial training and assure PM participation in on- going training.
- Develop and assure implementation of a comprehensive team duty rosters such as on-call, recreational activity supervision and other relevant duties.
- Coordinate identification and implementation of a six-week evening schedule of social, cultural, and recreational activities. Assure Scholars’ timely arrival and participation in pre-scheduled evening activities.
- Conduct nightly dorm meetings with Scholars and PMs. Monitor mediation team proceedings. Attend joint meetings with Administrative and Instructional Teams as required.
- Assure accurate and thorough pre and post building and room inventories. Liaise with University Housing to assure that the physical facility is consistently properly maintained.
- Advocate for PMs to assure that they have the resources necessary to carry out their responsibilities.
- Review incident and night watch reports and, each morning, inform the Administrative Team of rules violations and/or extraordinary occurrences.
- Follow provided University procedures immediately in cases of emergencies.
- Facilitate cohesive working relationships among and develop and implement a forum for Academic and Peer mentors to share information regarding Scholars. Submit weekly Behavior- Points Report by Friday noon.
- Assure enforcement of Project and University policies and procedures governing the campus environment.
