Summary
Our childcare center is currently hiring enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team! We are hiring for a lead group teacher for our early 3-year-old preschool classroom.
As a childcare staff member, you will have the opportunity to work with preschool aged children, helping them learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. We are looking for candidates who are patient, kind, and have a genuine love for working with children. We offer on-the-job training and ongoing professional development opportunities to ensure that our staff members are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to provide the best care for our children.
Duties
Teacher duties are always first to provide a safe, clean, and secure learning environment. They are required to do weekly lesson plans based on our school's current curriculum. Other responsibilities will include supervising playtime, assisting with meal and snack times, leading age-appropriate activities, and maintaining a clean and organized childcare space. Lead Teachers should take on the role of guidance and collaborative communication with the Assistant Teachers in their assigned classroom; making sure that classroom responsibilities and plans are being carried out appropriately.
Requirements
Experience working with children is required, preferably in a center-based program.
Canidates must be able to pass a NYS background check and be 18 years or older.
NYS OCFS requirements for a lead group Preschool Teacher are:
Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or other related field,
OR
Child Development Associate Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period,
OR
9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, with a plan of study leading to a degree or Child Development Associate Credential with 2 years of experience working with children.
