Head Park Ranger

The City of Lima, Ohio is currently accepting resumes for the position of HEAD PARK RANGER in the Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Division in the Public Works Department. Under general supervision, supervises rangers; assists with training and instructional activities; prepares and maintains records; performs park facility construction, maintenance, and repair functions; performs park grounds maintenance and conservation functions; performs law enforcement functions; assists in supervision of seasonal employees; maintains records; maintains persona; and professional competence and awareness.

Qualified candidates must possess the following: Completion of secondary education; training and five (5) years of experience as a Park Ranger or five (5) years of experience as a peace officer with relevant construction and maintenance experience. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Must possess an Ohio Peace Officer Certification and a Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements, Ohio Department of Agriculture Public Operator License, and become First-Aid/CPR certified within twelve (12) months of appointment.

Starting Pay Range: $28.38 per hour; $2,270.40 bi-weekly
