Job Description
Make a difference as a Ranger Dispatcher! Great Parks is accepting applications for part time Dispatchers in the Ranger Department based at Winton Woods. This position provides our Ranger Division communications and dispatching services, and performs various clerical and administrative tasks in support of Ranger division operations.
This part time non benefited position may work weekends, holidays, evenings, and could be asked to provide occasional last-minute coverage
- Dispatches Park Rangers to emergencies, calls for assistance, and other assignments. Analyzes nature of call and makes decision regarding appropriate response.
- Assists in coordinating Rangers during on-scene activities by providing and relaying information as necessary. Answers inquiries from Rangers, monitors locations, and collects and dispatches information regarding crime or emergency in progress or other occurrences.
- Communicates with support services such as Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, towing companies, park operations, other law enforcement agencies, and other support services. Provides other emergency response in accordance with processes and procedures.
- Uses phone, to include smart phone, to contact division or department heads and supervisors as necessary.
- Receives and screens telephone calls from employees and the general public.
- Routes calls to requested party and takes messages. Provides routine information and answers questions regarding park facilities, fines, citations, directions, and other information. Sells motor vehicle permits.
- Operates computer to disseminate and document critical information to Park Rangers and other authorized personnel.
- Logs data and retrieves information from police data computer systems. Sends and receives information, and verifies criminal records, stolen property, outstanding warrants and other criminal data.
- Files and maintains records entered into computer system such as citations, field identification cards and other documentation.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential or sensitive information.
- Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks of Hamilton County’s policies, procedures, and performance expectations.

- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED with at least one to two years post-secondary education and training that indicates knowledge of law enforcement communications, and at least one year of related experience.
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
RCIC, LEADS, NCIC, and First Aid/CPR certifications within the first two months of employment.
