Position Summary

 

We are seeking a progressive HR Business Leader and a trusted strategic business partner to the Senior Leadership Team to providing strategic direction and expertise for the Human Resources function. You will be responsible for building, planning, developing, implementing, and directing policies and programs, including strategic planning, organizational design, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, performance management, employment law, and compliance.

 

Responsible for driving and supporting a positive culture by sponsoring teams that focus on employee engagement programs, efforts, and activities for the site. You will drive and facilitate cultural and organizational development initiatives that foster a positive and high-performance culture including employee engagement. Responsible to the Head of the Site for the effective and efficient utilization of workforce for the Company. You will partner with the Head of the Site and the senior leadership team to deliver thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategies and execution as well as to provide insightful data to guide decision-making and proactive solutions.

 

The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of successfully managing end to end People & Culture practices across talent acquisition, performance management, human resource management, workforce planning, communications, and external relations, The successful candidate will have experience effectively coaching, guiding, and influencing leadership to drive a dynamic, inclusive culture and environment of the company. Ideally, the candidate has experience both from working in ramp up environment, but also from working in a large global matrix organized company, to be able to navigate in both complexities.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Leads the following People and Culture disciplines:

 

  • Talent Acquisition
    • Responsible for creating and executing recruitment strategies to meet our growth targets by sourcing and recruiting the right people, at the right level, at the right time.

 

  • Human Resources
    • Responsible for overseeing the following areas: Onboarding, Day2Day HR activities, Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, Investigations, Disciplinary Processes, Offboarding, Leadership Training and Soft Skill Training, Engagement Activities, and Compliance

 

  • Internal Communications and External Relations
    • Responsible for partnering with FDBs communications team to create and deliver thoughtful internal employee communications.
    • Responsible for creating and driving external employment related relationships and networks across the local community by strategically partnering with the right People and organizations such as: Colleges, Universities, Chamber of Commerce, Technical Forums and Associations, etc.

 

  • Organizational Design
    • Responsible for leading organizational changes, design and coaching for leaders at senior level at high pace daily.

 

  • Strategic Business Partner
    • Responsible for providing ongoing coaching, feedback, guidance, and support to the Senior Leadership Team as they navigate building a strong people-first culture.

 

  • Design and Implement Processes
    • Responsible for partnering with the broader FDB People and Culture Team to deliver compliant policies, processes, and procedures that are aligned with both site-wide initiatives and the broader FUJIFILM People and Culture organizations. For example, performance and salary reviews, workforce planning, recruitment, communications, and organizational change.

 

  • Be the Champion for Building the Site’s Culture
    • Responsible for partnering with the SLT to build the site’s culture, engagement, and overall day to day employee experience.

 

  • Manage Global Collaborations, Stakeholders, and Partnerships
    • Must be able to navigate in a large global matrix organization and have experience working in large PnC / HR functions with elements of centralization and localization and across diverse cultures.

 

  • Ensures Compliance
    • Responsible for keeping abreast of applicable federal, state, and local laws and trends to mitigate company liability and risks.

 

  • Manages Assigned P&L Budget
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining the site’s annual People and Culture budget with an eye toward optimizing cost while balancing risk and building culture.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 15+ years HR experience, of those years, 5+ must be at a senior leadership level
  • Experience working in larger global organization with centralized functions and localization as needed
  • Experience doing organizational design and change management required
  • Experience designing and implementing processes.
  • Experience managing budget targets.
  • Experience collaborating with executives
  • Experience developing and leading organizational design and change management
  • Proven ability to create followership, build trust-based, collaborative, sustainable relationships with executives, managers, and employees
  • Must be able to seamlessly flow between working both tactically and strategically
  • Must have experience in navigating California and US-based employment laws and regulations.
  • Travel as needed (approximately 10%)
  • Experience working within the Life Science Community preferred

 

Reporting Relationships

  • This position will report directly to the FDB Chief People Officer, dotted line to the Head of Site
  • This position will lead 2 direct reports

Salary and Benefits

  • $200,000 to $250,000 per year, depending on experience
