Job Description
We are a busy, mid-size boutique employment litigation practice with a focus on class action litigation. We are looking for an associate attorney to become the Head of our Intake Department. This is the last Department at our firm that does not have a Head of Department; thus, the opportunity is unparalleled and tremendous. The job position entails reviewing recommendations from our intake attorney and determining whether to take the case; refer the case out; send the intake back for more information; or reject the intake. Of course, to do this job effectively, it will require an effective ability to manage the employees and employment processes in the Department to ensure there is an effective transition from the time a lead is generated through the assignment of a new case to one of our attorneys.
While prior experience as an attorney, in employment law, and in class action litigation is helpful, it is not necessary for this role. We will provide all training necessary to excel in this role. However, ideal candidates should be highly organized, highly motivated, and have the ability to effectively manage various employees working both on-site and off-site. The ideal candidate can also quickly learn our criteria for taking a case; how to analyze case facts and litigation dockets; how to be creative about monetizing case patterns; and yearns to become largely autonomous after 6-12 months of active training from the firm’s Principal.
This is a salaried/exempt and full-time management attorney position. That said, unlike many other litigation jobs for associates, it can often be worked on more of a regular schedule than general litigation jobs.
Compensation for the position ranges between $100,000-$150,000 and will be decided on a case-by-case basis based on the candidate's experience.
