Job Summary
Ryvid is looking for an experienced, reliable, and dynamic individual to build a
high-performance finance team and work with us to support explosive growth in the years ahead. If you love predictability and routine, this job isn't for you. If you crave a challenge, then we have a position in which you may be interested. You will report to Ryvid's Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with the CFO and senior management team to derive critical insights from the company's financial and operating metrics and provide timely, accurate, and meaningful data enabling the executive team to make better decisions and drive superior performance. You will work with the CFO to build a team that will be highly integrated with its operating counterparts and will maintain high-performance standards in the accounting and financial processes of the company.
The ideal candidate is a proven professional with experience leading a high-performance accounting and control organization, ideally in a light manufacturing company. The successful candidate will bring best practices to guide the team, coupled with a hands-on and tactical approach to enable effective implementation. This individual should demonstrate strong business judgment applied to routine and complex financial and accounting issues and a healthy dose of professional curiosity when addressing business and accounting issues to drive strategic organizational objectives The successful candidate will quickly grasp company operations and business drivers and will possess a high degree of integrity, independence, and energy.
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:
• Oversee the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecast updates.
• Establish financial policies governing accounting and financial practices.
• Build the finance organization, systems, and processes to manage Ryvid's rapid growth and globalization
• Ownership of financial close and reporting cycles; ensure accuracy in journal entries and oversee effective reconciliation of accounts for the monthly closing ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of internal department financial results and operating metrics as well as external monthly financial statements.
• Oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and analysis, providing valuable insights while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive financial decisions.
• Involved with ROI and modeling of key initiatives by implementing processes to rationalize spend and capital investments.
• Secure compliance with all financial, tax, and other required regulatory filings
• Oversee tax functions including income taxes, indirect taxes, R&D, transfer pricing, and international tax strategies co-owning the function with an outside accounting firm.
• Ensure consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP
• Full responsibility for managing the annual external audit and quarterly reviews as well as relationships with outside financial and accounting
• Proactively collaborate and partner with all internal functions to drive process and system improvements
• Responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls.
• Responsible for all treasury operations and risk management including company insurance renewals and correspondence.
• Support CFO in managing investor relations by acting as a liaison between our investors and executive team.
• Coordinate with external audit, tax, and other consultants as needed.
Required Qualifications / Accounting Chops:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• MBA and Certified Public Accountant, preferred
• 10+ years of combined accounting experience (preferably including Big 4 or national firm assurance experience) Experience in high-growth, VC, and PE-backed companies.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a must.
• At least 3 years leading accounting and finance teams with a proven record of hiring, mentoring, and developing.
• Experience implementing financial and accounting systems and software strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and regulations
• Must have a methodical approach with experience in financial planning, analysis, modeling, and strategic financial mgmt.
• Hands-on experience in managing the full range of accounting operations, monthly/quarterly accounting close, and preparation of financial statements.
• Demonstrated success optimizing and automating accounting processes to drive a faster monthly/ quarterly close.
• Demonstrated experience in developing systems for planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on financial information and data.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends/issues, and make timely recommendations.
• Experience in establishing and implementing internal controls.
• Global expansion experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, adept at explaining complex financial data, strong technical accounting background, ideally gained in a public or VC-backed growing company, including familiarity with ASC 718 accounting for stock-based compensation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead the audit process and manage external auditor relationships, including the ability to participate in discussions during Audit Committee meetings with respect to accounting and control issues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• On-Site Full Time in Fountain Valley, CA. Move to Hawaiian Gardens in late summer 2024
• Competitive salary range: $150,000-$170,000
