Within the Global Respiratory & Immunology (R&I) Therapeutic Area, reporting to the Vice President, Early Commercial and Strategy, you will help shape the future of the therapy area (TA) by driving mission critical strategic initiatives that cross assets, indications and will shape the future of care in our key diseases.
You will also be responsible for partnering closely with our business development teams to turbocharge our support of their search, evaluation and transaction processes which are core to the build of our future pipeline.
Motivated by diverse challenges, comfortable with uncertainty and driven to shape and influence the long-term horizon for both the TA and the Enterprise. Clarity in communication and comfort with interacting with senior executive partners is core to this role.
You will be focused on three critical priorities:
Lead commercial readiness and go-to-market strategies for novel platform implementation and new capabilities.
With an initial focus on cell therapies for Immunology and precision medicine/ companion diagnostics for R&I. You will be accountable for investment case with senior stakeholders through to engaging with key markets to help lead and support their strategic expansion into these critical new therapeutics.
Drive dentification and evaluation of new technology platforms.
In partnership with R&D and BD colleagues you will own the assessment of commercial strategic potential of novel therapeutic platforms for the TA and articulate our strategic vision for the Enterprise (eg gene therapies; novel inhaled modalities; multi-specific biologics; long-acting antibodies; AI, etc.)
Lead the identification and development of cross-portfolio value creation initiatives. Lead commercial analysis of significant treatment landscape changes e.g. biosimilar entry – to ensure portfolio value is maximised, and identify areas where investment today can drive future upside – eg novel clinical endpoints, transforming healthcare delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required in Business, Medical or Life sciences
Significant experience in healthcare or biopharma industry
Significant and in-depth understanding of global Commercial Strategy, methodologies and tools (product profiling and positioning, forecasting, pricing and reimbursement, market research techniques, competitive intelligence resources)
Thorough understanding of the drug development process and the need for commercial line of sight throughout
Understanding of future healthcare market challenges and translating this into actionable strategic drivers today
Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills, demonstrating flexibility and a validated ability to deal with complexity under time pressure
Experienced and comfortable working in a matrix environment
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree (MBA, MSc or PhD)
Experience in respiratory and/or immunology/autoimmunity
Experience leading commercial evaluation of BD projects
