Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Detox facilities to lead our network of Inpatient Substance Abuse Detox Facilities across California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare management, with specific expertise in substance abuse treatment operations. This role involves strategic oversight, operational leadership, and the enhancement of patient care quality across all facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans, processes, and metrics for the operation and expansion of Detox treatment facilities.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align the operational strategy with the overall organizational goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team across the facilities.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee daily operations of multiple substance abuse treatment facilities.
- Ensure each facility adheres to budgetary constraints and meets operational as well as compliance targets.
Quality and Compliance Management:
- Uphold the highest standards of patient care and ensure compliance with all health regulations and standards.
- Closely collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure regulatory and financial compliance.
- Implement continuous quality improvement strategies across all facilities.
- Champion new and robust processes in lieu of existing ones.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and community partners.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and public events.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field.
- At least 10 years of leadership and people management experience in healthcare, with a strong preference for backgrounds in substance abuse or mental health treatment.
- Proven track record in managing multiple facilities and large-scale healthcare operations, and working in high-paced, goal and data-driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Industry-Specific Certifications:
- Certifications such as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), or Certified Substance Abuse Professional (CSAP). Or other relevant certifications that will indicate specialized knowledge and commitment to the field.
Experience in Healthcare Policy and Regulation:
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations specific to substance abuse treatment and healthcare facilities. Experience in navigating and influencing healthcare policy would be advantageous.
Financial Management Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning and management in a healthcare setting, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
Strategic Planning and Business Development:
- A track record of successful strategic planning and execution, including facility expansion, service line development, and integration of innovative treatment methodologies.
Operational Excellence in Healthcare Settings:
- Proven ability in optimizing healthcare operations for efficiency and effectiveness, including the implementation of healthcare technologies, patient flow optimization, and staff productivity strategies.
Leadership and Organizational Development:
- Experience in leading organizational change, developing high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care.
Crisis Management and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to handle critical situations effectively, including crisis management in a healthcare context.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Proficiency in using data analytics and performance metrics to guide operational decisions and improve patient outcomes.
Community Outreach and Public Relations:
- Experience in community engagement and public relations, particularly in building partnerships and networks that support substance abuse treatment.
MBA or Other Relevant Graduate Degree:
- An MBA or a graduate degree in a related field such as Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or Non-Profit Management, providing a strong foundation in business and leadership principles applicable to healthcare.
