Job Description: Kitchen Manager (Detox/Res SUD Facility)

Position: Kitchen Manager (Full Time Regular)
Shift: Weekdays, 9:30am to 6pm (may vary)
Location: Montclair, CA
Duties:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Kitchen Manager prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, by following established policies and procedures. Establish menus and ensure that safe and high-quality food service is provided at all times. Place and receive food orders. Responsible for inventory control and safe food storage and handling.

- Must have a High school diploma or equivalency.
- 1-2 years experience in quantity food preparation.
- 1-2 years of restaurant or large food kitchen management.
- Ability to read and understand the English language.
- Must be able to read and follow directions and recipes.
- Ability to prepare nutritious menus up to 4 weeks in advance.
- Place and receive food orders.
- Manage food inventory and food costs.
- Must have a valid California driver’s license and be eligible for auto insurance coverage.
- Able to stand, stoop, bend squat and reach for the purpose of performing job duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing, and lifting.
- Routinely lift and move items weighing up to twenty-five pounds; are expected to ask for assistance and use a dolly or cart for any heavy items.
- Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for the performance of job duties.
- Must be able to use hands on a consistent basis to stir, mix, whip, chop, grate, pour, cut, serve, lift and carry pots and pans to and from the serving area and food preparation area.
- Ability to withstand heat while working around stoves and/or ovens.
- Able to stand and walk most of the working day and to physically perform other job duties. Duties may require occasional use of a stool or small ladder.
- Specific qualifications may vary based on the assignment.
- Recovering individuals must have a minimum two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.
