Primary Job Function:
Thornburg Investment Management is searching for a Head of Consultant Relations, in the Private Wealth & Institutional channel to drive the successful creation and growth of sales with the leading US based Consultants. This role will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with Institutional Consultants (primarily Tier 1-2), RIA Aggregators, Bank Trust organizations (Top 50), Multi-family offices, Endowment & Foundations, and OCIO firms.
The role can be based anywhere in the USA and will involve national travel.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implementing, promoting, and developing the Thornburg Investment Management brand with large consultants.
  • Strengthening Thornburg's relationships with existing institutional accounts by developing and executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives.
  • Identifying and cultivating prospects and/or clients.
  • Initiating and following up on new business opportunities.
  • Leading new prospect meetings and closing business with institutional investors and asset consultants.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with pension consultants in coordination with other members of the institutional sales team.
  • Assisting in the development and launching of new products.
  • Acting as a liaison to the Thornburg investment teams to ensure active, enthusiastic support of the business development process.
  • Ensuring that product and sales materials are always updated and focused for the applicable presentation, conference, or opportunity.
  • Working closely with Thornburg team members to further develop Thornburg's sales opportunities in global markets.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree - required ; MBA and/or CFA designation - preferred .
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses - required .
  • Minimum 10 years of related sales experience.
  • Solution oriented mindset with a track record of creating sales/relationship opportunities with clients, prospects, and consultants.
  • Must have excellent sales skills and broad investment knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to close business.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to both prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills required, as well as an ability to work well with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent travel and work in different locations.
