The Snowmass Club is a luxury resort offering private membership options encompassing gym, spa, golf, tennis, pools, and on-site restaurant options. We are in beautiful Snowmass Village, CO, at the base of Snowmass Mountain. Aspen-Snowmass was recently named the best ski resort in North America by Conde Nast. We are privately owned, with no committees or boards. The Club offers an always-active and family-friendly, year-round lifestyle. and a staff-focused culture. The golf course is open from mid-May through mid-October.
Job Summary
The Head Golf Professional will directly supervises all inside and outside staff to assure that a high level of service is consistently received. Teamwork is a key component of success for this position, including maintaining a close and professional relationship with the Director of Golf, Golf Course Superintendent, and other key department heads to ensure that Golf Operations are effectively coordinated. The candidate will be asked to mentor and encourage the development of staff towards their future in the golf business.
Essential Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the Snowmass Club golf department, including managing staff and coordinating events and tournaments Establish accurate recordkeeping policies and procedures
- Provide high-quality golf instruction to players of all skill levels, including individual and group lessons
- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all members and staff
- Utilizing Jonas to build tee sheets and create sku's for golf merchandise
- Operation of TrackMan golf simulator during off season
Non-Essential Duties
- Club fittings
- Execution of minor club repairs
- Ensure the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf equipment
- Play golf with a variety of members and/or guests as time permits
- Administer the Rules of Golf and educate staff. Promote and provide Rules of Golf clinics to the membership
- Maintain attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shop
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
Education and/or Experience
- PGA member in good standing
- Strong knowledge of Golf Genius Tournament Software and Jonas Point of Sale Software
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience at a private/resort golf facility
- Experience as a 1st assistant or Head Golf Professional preferred
