Eaton's Power Reliability Division is seeking a full-time Hardware Engineering Co-op. This role is part of a multi-disciplined new product engineering team at Eaton's Thomas A. Edison Technical Center in Franksville, WI and would run from June ’23 to December ’23 OR it could run from September ’23 to December ’23 depending on the student’s availability.

The Hardware Engineering Co-op will assist in developing electronic hardware for high performance, real-time controls and protective relays used for smart grid applications in the electrical power distribution industry. As a co-op, you will collaborate with other Hardware Engineers as well as systems engineering, software engineering, and QA to design and implement features for power distribution products.

In this role, you will:
- Design electronic circuits and sub-systems for power distribution system intelligent electronic devices, including power supplies and analog and digital circuits
- Implement test set ups and perform design verification testing
- Perform troubleshooting to identify design issues and test set up issues
- Perform circuit simulations
- Assist Lead Engineers in design reviews
- Plan and execute tasks in collaboration with the product team to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2.8 GPA.
- Must be junior standing or higher
- Able to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Experience developing electronic hardware circuits
- Experience with ECAD tools for schematic capture and pcb layout.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum concepts (or other iterative development methodology)
- Familiarity with using project management tools in a team environment (e.g., Jira, Git, etc.).

- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication including the ability to effectively explain technical issues/concepts and report progress.
- Effectively work and communicate within a global team environment.
