Hardscape Crew Leader
Reports to: Production Manager
Job Overview:
As a hardscaping Crew Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation and construction of patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, and other hardscape features. You will work closely with a team of laborers to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a crew of hardscape laborers in the installation and construction of patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, and other hardscape features.
- Read and interpret blueprints and plans to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
- Order and track materials and supplies.
- Set up and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Train crew members on proper hardscape installation techniques.
- Ensure the job site is clean and organized.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other team members.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Organize, direct, and request the proper equipment needed for timely project completion
- Organize, direct, and request needed personnel and subcontractors for timely project completion, with Supervisor assistance
- Continually review changes in methods, schedules, and procedures and improve where necessary
Position Details:
- Salary: $20-$30/hour, based upon experience
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, work in the elements.
- Work Schedule: Hours vary based on seasonal needs, must be flexible. Typically M-F, 7a-5p.
- Work Conditions: Outside, in the elements
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and insurability; preferred but not required
- Ability to operate a truck and trailer
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to work outdoors in all elements
