JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Building Principal, responsible for providing for the safety and welfare of students while on school grounds; and enforcing the school and District rules and regulations pertaining to student academic behavior. Hallway Monitors support in person student instruction and development of students by assisting with the day to day operations of the school site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Monitor the safety and security of hallways during student attendance days by completing rounds of assigned area(s), assisting with emergency drills, transporting students, and responding to emergencies.
- Assist with temperature checks and confirm student health screening.
Basic cleaning and disinfecting of classrooms as needed after meal times.
Communicate all student issues with appropriate staff including Administration, B&G, Campus Security, and the School Nurse.
- Ensure the well-being of students in the hall by addressing behavioral issues, escorting students to the main office or other designated area(s), providing mentorship, and checking in with students in the hall due to excusal from the classroom.
- Assist with food service by providing supervision during service hours, distribution at meal times, and deliveries as needed.
- Provide supervision assistance in the cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways, bathrooms and all other areas of the building for student safety as needed or requested.
- Assumes any other duties as may be delegated by the supervisor. The Supervisor may make any adjustment in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which would be in the best interest of the District.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Frequent standing, walking, and talking are required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature, noise and hazards are relatively nonexistent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Work experience in an academic setting with adolescents preferred.
- Basic First Aid knowledge preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish a plus.

- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to quickly assess safety risks and react appropriately.
- Ability to effectively facilitate conflict resolution.
- Ability to monitor and observe student behavior according to approved policies and procedures.
