Lead Gym Supervisor Job Description

- Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Essential Job Duties
- Direct and Control gym staff to ensure gym is staffed appropriately based on overall needs of the facility and tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and assist in the disciplinary process to ensure all gym policies are being followed/upheld. (example: phone policy, attendance, conduct, task lists, etc.)
- Coordinate and execute hiring practices and onboarding new team members, and assist with training protocols.
- Ensure team is aware of marketing efforts and trained on all marketing promotions, schedules, etc.
- Resolve employee concerns; partnering with HR as needed.
- Additional Job Duties
- Be a positive example to staff, encourage and coach staff on proper techniques using positive reinforcement and leadership.
- Ensure gym and equipment are clean at all times. Oversee the completion of the daily and weekly cleaning tasks/checklists.
- Assess and assist in emergency situations, complete incident reports, etc.
- Coordinate with the Gym Management Team to set assigned tasks and lead team members in a safe and efficient manner.
- Responsible for assisting with hiring
- Manage team member performance; providing feedback to team member regularly.
- Responsible for orientating members to use the machines properly and to familiarize members/guests to gym rules.
- Maintain a professional appearance by wearing appropriate clothing and footwear. Encourage staff to do the same.
- Provide a friendly environment for the members by demonstrating excellent customer service, ensuring staff uphold the same standards.
- Return all equipment to their proper place. Report any and all issues with equipment, members, or staff directly to the Gym Management Team. For equipment, help coordinate with the property management and gym management team.
- Responsible for answering the phone, resolving member/guest level issues, and answering member/guests questions in a professional manner to the best of their knowledge.
- Be knowledgeable and support all other programs and offerings.
- Required Skills / Experience
- 1+ years Customer Service experience
- 2-3 years of experience supervising and leading a team
