03/01/2024Welcome to the Northern Area Substitute Services (NASS)! We provide Substitute Teachers for the North Allegheny School District and Hampton Township School District.
North Allegheny School District is one the highest performing public-school districts in Pennsylvania and recognized nationally for its focus on academic achievement and growth, future preparation, school climate and student and staff wellness. Located just north of Pittsburgh, it is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County, with average annual enrollment of 8,500 students.
The Guest Substitute Teacher Program allows for those without an Instructional I teacher's certification to enter the school district as a Substitute Teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor student's behavior
Keep students on-track with assignments left by teacher via paper material or virtual portal
Assist with other day-to-day functions outside of the classroom as needed
Take attendance for each class period
Report all necessary information to the primary teacher
Other duties as assigned by the building principal
*A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position*
To work within a Pennsylvania Public School, the following clearances are required:
Act 34 - PA Criminal History
Act 114 - FBI Fingerprinting
Act 126 - Mandated Reporter Training
Act 151 - Child Abuse History
Act 168 - Sexual Misconduct and Disclosure Form
Emergency Permit (obtained after provided mandatory training with AIU)
*If you have already obtained these clearances, they must be within one (1) year of hire date.
*You must complete a mandatory training with the AIU on March 8th, 2024 from 11a-12:30p.
While we ask for your day-to-day flexibility in a variety of classrooms, we offer it in return! As a Guest Substitute Teacher, you can create a flexible schedule of your choosing.
Compensation for a Guest Substitute Teacher is $120.00/day.
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CURRENTLY HOLD A PA TEACHING CERTIFICATION.
