Position Status: Substitute Nonexempt, Hourly, Part-time Seasonal
Position Schedule: Monday – Friday 2:00p – 6p- operates on PPS schedule

Responsibilities
- Assist in a classroom of 10-15 elementary age students, ages 5-11
- Within the classroom, responsible to:
- Maintain conducive learning environment using appropriate classroom management
- Work cooperatively with the daily tutors assigned to the class to make sure each student’s homework is completed on time and is correct.
- Assist the Lead Teacher with any tasks necessary for the classroom. Learn how to teach and how to manage the class from the Lead Teacher. Spend time during prep time asking questions and helping prepare for the lessons they have created. Use the schedule and stay on task according to activities and responsibilities assigned
- Keep the room neat and cupboard organized daily.
- Partner with Lead Teacher and parents/guardians to discern how to best serve the students and their families.
- Complete all training requirements, including but not limited to:
- CACFP
- Mandated Reporter
- CPR and First Aid
- Class Management
- Trauma-informed care and learning styles
- Meet daily with Lead Teacher and attend weekly staff meetings

Required Qualifications
- Must have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
- Must possess a high level of initiative, have an interest and heart for urban ministry, and the desire to serve alongside a Lead Teacher to minister to children
- Possess devotion to the Lord and for helping children grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with elementary children in a classroom setting

Physical Requirements
- Regular physical exercise with the students, including walking, running, bending
- Ability to walk to and from schools for pick up (within 4 block radius)
