The Opportunity
Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a Guest Services / Security Associate to join our team full-time. As the Guest Services Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all visitors at Chelsea Piers. You must greet all customers in a professional and courteous manner, and try your best to help out in any way you can. Guest Services is also responsible for maintaining a safe site and facility for all customers. You must be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary and anything that may pose a threat to the safety of our customers, members and employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and provide information and directions in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain safe, secure and orderly site and facilities.
- Direct customer vehicles to proper parking locations and open spots.
- Direct delivery and commercial vehicles to their proper drop off and loading areas.
- Direct vehicles, bikes and pedestrians at crosswalks.
- Report any/all hazardous situations
- Prohibit loitering, onsite consumption of alcohol and/or use of illegal drugs.
- Assist maintenance and housekeeping departments, when necessary.
- Walk exterior site to minimize or eliminate the occurrence of vandalism and/or thefts.
- Make scheduled rounds of interior facility to ensure proper level of safety is maintained throughout the building
- Completion of occurrence/accident reports when appropriate.
- When closing, make sure all doors are locked and alarmed, and that there are no more customers in the building
Qualifications
- Superior customer service skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain on feet, either standing at a post or walking assigned area for up to 6 hours at a time
- Ability to be outside in the elements when on post
- Energetic, outgoing and enjoy working in a team environment
- Ability to convey authority in a respectful manner

Schedule: Part-Time, about 20 hours per week; primarily weekday evenings and at least one weekend shift per week required
Compensation: $17-$21/hour, depending on experience
