Responsibilities
1st Shift - (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) Monday through Thursday

MSA Safety in Jacksonville, North Carolina is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as Group Lead in the APR Department in our manufacturing plant This position will report the Production Supervisor. If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, then we want to hear from you.
Primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Production Supervisor in the instruction and direction of associates and temporary workers in the department and maintain the flow of production.
Responsibilities:
- Planning/scheduling work; assigning, instructing, directing and assisting employees.
- Ensuring associates are adhering to policies and procedures.
- Aligning day to day resources to meet schedule attainment and efficiency metrics.
- Addressing performance deficiencies through training, coaching and in cooperation with supervisor, discipline.
- Entering efficiency data accurately.
- Ensuring all associates are trained and documentation is accurate.
- Performing tasks and operations to maintain a flow of product and meet customer expectations while meeting all quality requirements.

- Responsible for all aspects of production (set-up, production, quality, safety, housekeeping, documentation, etc.).
- Refers to drawings, diagrams, or blueprints as a guide for performing assembly tasks.
- Other assembly and material handling tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Lead daily huddles for production associates and support staff.
- Work with maintenance to mitigate downtime.
- 6's sustainment of areas.
- Responsible for overall quality of processes.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Experience hand assembly and machine operation.
- Experience in assigning work.
- Use of hand and/or power tools.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability and disposition to interact and communicate with employees at all organizational levels.
- Must have no disciplinary action records for any reason at or above the written warning level within the previous twelve months.
- Leadership abilities to promote teamwork, delegation, individual responsibility, and positive employee morale.
- General computer skills with proficiency in Excel
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- 6 months working in a manufacturing environment.
