- Developing numerical groundwater flow and transport models
- Developing hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets
- Managing groundwater model tasks and activities
- Compiling, processing, and analyzing hydrogeologic data using spreadsheets, databases, GIS, graphing software, and computer programming
- Preparing data summaries, presentations, and technical reports/memos
- Participating in client meetings/teleconferences to present program results and recommendations
- Graduate degree in hydrology, geology, or a related field of study; course work in hydrogeologic data analysis, groundwater modeling, and computer programming preferred
- More than 3 years of professional experience outside of academia developing and applying groundwater models
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS software, and computer programming (e.g., Python, Scilab, FORTRAN, Octave)
- Experience with MODFLOW (including NWT, USG, OWHM, GSFLOW, etc.) and Groundwater Vistas; FEFLOW a plus
- Professional training in quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater modeling
- Understanding of regional hydrogeologic settings in the arid and semi-arid regions of the west
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in teams and at times with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and commitment to deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States (required)
