GROUNDSMAN / CARETAKER

```Job Summary```
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundsman's/Caretaker to join our team. As a Groundsman's/Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of our outdoor spaces. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful landscapes.

```The Cemetery Groundsman/Caretaker performs jobs requiring mainly manual skills and physical strength. Performs a variety of tasks, such as operating small tractors, backhoe, trucks, dirt trailers, vault mobile, riding lawn mowers as well as other construction, maintenance and beautification equipment used in cemetery operation; transplanting shrubs; cutting and removing sod, tamping and leveling dirt using hand and power tools; digging graves to the proper level; and squaring graves using pneumatic equipment, picks and shovels; assisting in lifting and placing caskets on lowering devices; loading and unloading materials; aligning headstones; cleaning and clearing cemetery grounds of debris using power trimmers, chainsaws, axes, shovels, rakes, blowers, vacuums etc.; weeding, mulching, and applying fertilizer; pruning shrubs and low level dead branches; Trim and spray flowers. Installs and repairs sprinkler system, Does all kinds of concrete work, including setting of markers and monuments. cleaning headstones using a sprayer and hand brush. Assist in the location and grave layouts. Will set up lowering devices, chairs and chapel for funeral service. Cleans and performs minor repairs to District buildings and related facilities.
