Qualifications:
- Driver's License required
- High School Diploma preferred
- Grounds/Athletic Fields Maintenance and Snow Removal experience preferred
- Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.
- Fertilizer or Pesticide Applicator License preferred
- Required Criminal History Background check and proof of US Citizenship or Legal Resident Alien Status
- Alternate Qualifications as the Board of Education deems acceptable
Reports To: Head Groundskeeper
Job Goal: To keep the district grounds in a condition of excellence and safety for full educational use at all times.
- Sewerage Plant Operations:
- Wash down tanks of film and remove debris from baskets or tank
- Remove pumps, clear jam when needed
- Athletic Fields:
- Measure, mark, and set up fields for specified sports.
- Maintain field and required equipment pertaining to event (goal posts, nets, flags, markers, etc.).
- Clean areas of trash and accumulated debris.
- Correct any deviation detrimental to field use and safety (ground obstructions, holes, broken equipment etc.)
- Dismantling and storing of field equipment when season ends.
- Maintain bleachers in clean, safe condition.
- Grounds:
- Snow removal, salting, and maintaining clear driveways and parking areas.
- All fertilizing, seeding, aerating, watering, cutting, weeding, edging, trimming, etc. whenever and wherever necessary and on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain planters and flower beds (if applicable).
- Keep grounds and parking lot areas clean of paper and debris.
- Remove debris in storm drains inlets.
- Perform parking lot striping
- Repair or replace signage
- Repair or replace fences & gates
- Perform minor repairs of concrete walkways, curbs or asphalt areas
- Equipment:
- Maintain all equipment and tools applicable to grounds and groundskeeper.
- Groundskeeper responsible for all tools and equipment (tractors, lawn mowers, assorted hand tools and spreaders etc.).
- Maintenance and operation of sprinkler system.
- Safe and careful use of all tools and equipment.
- Ordering parts, marking coatings, tools, etc. when needed.
- Playgrounds:
- Replenish mulched areas
- Perform minor repairs of equipment
- Miscellaneous:
- Perform deliveries of materials or equipment
- Comply with local and state laws for handling and storage of Hazardous materials, disposal of trash and recycling requirements.
- Comply with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Hazard Communication Standard/Right To Know (HCS/RTK) regulations.
- Perform custodial or maintenance staff duties when needed due to staff shortages or an emergency at the discretion of the B&G Supervisor and/or the Business Administrator.
- Any other duties you are asked to perform by the Head Goundskeeper.
