Job Summary
This position has regularly scheduled assigned tasks and projects for the maintenance and upkeep of the City golf course. This includes all golf course grounds, clubhouse lawn and landscape areas, driving range and irrigation system.
Essential Functions
1. Mows, plants, rakes, prunes, fertilizes or irrigates turf areas, trees, shrubs and other plant materials on the course and clubhouse areas according to direction.
2. Follows manufacturer's label instructions for application of fertilizers, weed killers and other chemicals for turf and course maintenance.
3. Operates all standard golf course equipment (riding mowers, tractors, push mowers, weed eaters, hand tools, etc..).
4. Modifies the course for daily play including moving tee markers, ropes, greens cups, etc. to vary the course set up.
5. Conducts general janitorial and custodial duties as assigned at the golf facility.
6. Performs maintenance and repair of golf course and clubhouse irrigation systems.
7. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
8. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
9. Performs, as directed, any such duty that is appropriate for the maintenance of the golf course.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old.
Individuals working with chemical applications will need to have reading, writing, and simple math skills. Must have physical coordination to operate equipment.
The work week for this position is six days. Occasionally, there may be instances of longer hours for special projects.
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, and functional assessment screening (Level 2).

Safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, hard hats, safety vests, steel-toe boots, back support belts, and seat belts are provided and must be worn as required by department procedures and good safety practices.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Regular Full-Time employees are scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week and are eligible for the City's benefit package, subject to the conditions and limitations of each program.
