GROUNDS MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE

WORK SCHEDULES:
All positions at Baptist Village, Inc. include holidays and weekends as they fall within your schedule. Additional worked hours may be needed as workload demands.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred
• Experience with and knowledge of lawn care equipment
• Good physical health condition and pass a physical examination
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license.

APPEARANCE AND DRESS:

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS:
Vehicles, trash bins, compactor, tractor mower, push mower, hedge clipper, weed-eater, chainsaw, saw, blower, edger, lift equipment, pressure washer, maintenance tools, other lawn care equipment as required, and other equipment as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

• Pick up waste/trash from various campus buildings, transport waste to the compactor.
• Cleans waste containers regularly and maintain the area surrounding the compactor.
• Operate waste compactor.
• Assist vendor with the removal of biohazard waste from the Jones Building.
• Mows grass. Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged branches or limbs.
• Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Rakes and bags or bums leaves.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Pressure wash buildings, sidewalks, and driveways as needed.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. Paints fences and outbuildings.
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• The associate is authorized to have no access to resident health information as needed for treatment, or billing purposes, or the purpose of healthcare operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.50 - $13.00 per hour
