Overview:
As a Grooming Manager your role is to run a successful grooming operation within a retail store. You will be in constant contact with the customers, your staff in the grooming room, as well as staff and management of the retail operations. Customer service and the financial performance of the grooming operations will be daily responsibilities. You will report directly to the General Manager.
· Perform ordinary pet grooming tasks
· Recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and appraising staff
· Expect “Reasonableness” from staff at all times
· Advanced knowledge of what motivates each staff member
· Organize all grooming operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
· Maintaining confidential personnel files
· Managing budgets
· Reputational customer service and management and building community partnerships
· Maintain customer, statistical, and financial records
· Successfully dealing with customer queries and complaints
· Understand animal temperament and be able to identify signals of same
· Overseeing stock controls including purchase orders, receiving, and shrinkage
· Maximize profitability including meeting production targets and motivating staff to do same
· Review monthly financial reports and make adjustments as needed to maximize the success of grooming operations
· Compliance with legal, health, and safety standards
· Maintain communications with staff, retail staff and management, and GM
· Merchandising, cleaning and overall grooming room appearance
· Maintain a culture consistent with corporate values
· Keep abreast of market trends and make recommendations
· Other responsibilities that will arise in order to manage a successful operation

- Standing for up to 8 hours per day
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds

- Hand dexterity to safely and effectively maneuver grooming tools
