JOST INTERNATIONAL IS HIRING A GENERAL PRODUCTION WORKER FOR A POSITION IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN

The Michigan location is both the North America corporate headquarters and the landing gear and king pin manufacturing plant. JOST sells to semi-truck and trailer builders, and we currently hold over 70% market share worldwide in the heavy-duty truck Landing Gear industry.
GRIFFIN GENERAL PRODUCTION INTRODUCTION:
This position reports to the Griffin Production Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
Performs functions that required in various production areas based on need for that day. Areas include but are not limited to Galvanized Clean Cell, Big Tex Drill Press, NDT, Weld Robots, Cross Shaft and Production Hi-Lo.
GRIFFIN GENERAL PRODUCTION AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- Train in various production areas to be able to cover call ins and PTO days for team members to ensure continued and efficient production in said area.
- In each are follows work instructions, blueprints, orders, and other required company documents.
- Maintains equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition.
- Documents actions during shift by completing production and quality logs and ensures all documentation is complete and accurate as required in perspective area.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Follows company work rules, safety rules and policies at all times.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others.
- Operates forklift as directed.
- Will adhere to preventive maintenance requirements as established.
- Ability to take direction from leadership and to communicate information clearly and directly to co-workers and supervisors both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to gain knowledge of, understanding of and abide by JOST’s Basic Processes and gain knowledge of company products. Will also comply with quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.

GRIFFIN GENERAL PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of High School or GED education.
- Self-starter aptitude with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workday projects independently.
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Versatile and comfortable working in several different production areas day to day.
GRIFFIN GENERAL PRODUCTION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing setting.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; walk, stand, see, hear, use hands, reach, stoop, bend, twist, and occasionally will be required to repetitively lift or move objects which weigh a minimum of 19 pounds to a maximum 51 pounds.
