Graphic Designer

We're seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team, capable of transforming ideas into impactful visual representations across print and digital media. The ideal candidate will excel in design software, guiding projects from concept to completion with finesse. COMPETENCIES:

• Visual Design Ability: Possession of creative flair, originality, and ability to utilize brand standards in a visually engaging way. Demonstrates ability to conceptualize/visualize a project that fulfills the needs and parameters of the campaign. Ability to design, organize, and prepare various documents, brochures, newsletters, and projects. Confidence in applying visual branding across all marketing platforms, including Website, Print, Video, Advertising, and social media.

• Marketing Knowledge: Has demonstrated knowledge of the basic marketing principles, including audience/market identification, current marketing platforms, and trends. Demonstrates comfort in visually presenting the brand in a way that resonates with what is most important to the members/customers of the organization.

• Customer Responsiveness: Seeks to identify and clarify customers' project needs and parameters. Prioritizes and balances multiple project deadlines simultaneously. Takes time to answer questions, provide updates, and explain decisions to customers. Demonstrates the ability to Follow through with commitments to customers in a timely manner and maintain a commitment to continuous improvement. Delivers requested edits and projects to clients in a timely manner.

• Oral and Written Communication Skills Additional Text: Excellent writing skills and command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Technical: Computer experience, including knowledge of graphic design and word-processing software applications. Previous Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and Canva. Experience and proficiency with various video editing software.
• Networking: Maintains and fosters contacts with vendors to facilitate project production and obtain the best value for the Council.
• Project Management and Drive: Understands the flow of a project and is adept at prioritization. Demonstrates time-management skills. Possesses the ability to work under time constraints by multi-tasking and managing multiple high-priority projects. Ability to perform well in a team environment and work independently with minimal oversight. Takes initiative and is flexible, adaptable, self-managed, organized, and has a strong attention to detail.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience (academic and professional) with design software.
• Computer experience, including knowledge of graphic design and word-processing software applications. Previous Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and Canva.
• Photography/Videography experience and proficiency with corresponding editing software.
• Excellent writing skills and command of the English language including grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as verbal communication skills. Spanish language skills are a bonus.
• Possession of creative flair, conceptual/visual ability, and originality.
• Ability to design, organize, and prepare various types of documents, brochures, and newsletters.
• Strong time management and prioritization. Ability to work under time constraints by multi-tasking and managing multiple high-priority projects.
• Ability to perform well in a team environment and work independently when appropriate.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of office equipment operation to include: computer, telephone systems, duplicating machines, and fax machines.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, marketing, and communications or a bachelor's degree in graphic design.

A requirement of you employment with the Girls Scouts of San Gorgonio is that all staff members must successfully complete and pass a Live Scan finger print background check.
