JOB SUMMARY:
American Textile Company is a rapidly growing consumer products company selling to major retailers across North America, as well as internationally. Our national & store-brand products are used by millions of consumers daily. The Graphic Designer II will have a leadership role in the development & execution of our brand identity across our major retail partners. The Graphic Designer II will be responsible for developing designs for national brands & private label packaging, corporate, web & social collateral & showroom displays. This role will build, maintain and work from brand guidelines to translate marketing and sales ideas into best-in-class design & production art.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Packaging & Display Design
Responsible for the planning, design, and production for ATC owned & licensed brands (AllerEase, Tranquility, Sealy, Tempur-Pedic, etc.) and private label brands, while ensuring close adherence to customer & corporate brand guidelines.
Delivers accurate final art files on time, while meeting all project requirements & brand standards.
Creates and maintains expansive design systems for multiple brands while maintaining focused consistency across the various sizes, categories and style variances.
Reviews and approves teammate's pre-production files ensuring adherence to product specifications, brand guidelines, spelling, grammar & all technical specifications for production.
Provides guidance and resources to other designers as needed.
Maintains an organized archive of all artwork files.
Communicates and coordinates with outside design agencies and clients when needed.
Branded Materials
Develops in-store merchandising/trade show support, digital and social collateral & mockups to support all brands.
Creates designs for use in PR, advertising & customer specific requests.
Video editing in iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
Corporate Communication
Develops ATC corporate collateral that elevates & reinforces the company's positioning, company values & guidelines.
Brand Standards & Graphical Standards Guides
Partners with the Design Manager & Brand Manager to develop/maintain brand guidelines for all ATC owned brands to ensure more refined brand consistency.
Collaborates with the Design Manager & Marketing Department to create/maintain a brand standards guide for external retailer art departments to decrease ATC's liability upon receipt of external art files.
Showroom Responsibilities
Manages the showroom tracker to meet Market milestones.
Develops immersive Showroom concepts to expand each brand expression beyond packaging.
Creates distinct mood boards for each brand.
Collaborates with Account Managers to create customer-focused content for Customer Meetings at Market.
Day-to-Day Creative Management
Assists the Design Manager in maintaining the project list in Meister Task.
Supports and/or stands in for the Design Manager in rollout meetings & other management capacities in the Design Manager's absence.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in graphic design, production art or related experience required; bachelor's is preferred
Minimum 4 years' experience in graphic design or production art
Strong project management, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a challenging & fast-paced team environment with accelerated deadlines
Strong knowledge of color management, digital and offset printing and thorough understanding of all packaging print processes and materials
Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud; Microsoft Office; MAC OS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Portfolio & 3 references are required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting at a desk
Frequent use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer
Ability to occasionally stand/walk
