Position Overview
 

Hexion Inc is looking for a Graphic Design Intern who is passionate about creating compelling visuals, collaborating with cross functional teams and delivering on the visual brand strategy for Hexion. 

This position is great for building a portfolio and getting your feet wet in the industry. We’ll ask you to create internal brand assets that align with our brand standards, collaborate with cross functional teams to develop, create, and execute on all forms of visual communication, such as print, social media graphics, event signage, digital assets and promotional items. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable helping to execute community relations events and develop initiatives that help strengthen our associate engagement.  

In exchange, we’ll treat you like the expert you are at creating, designing, and visual communications while providing on-the-job training in a collaborative and fun environment. 

Job Responsibilities
 

It’s simple: We’re looking for a strong designer, an effective collaborator, and a deadline-driven multi-tasker. Spelled out, this position requires strong written and verbal communication, Graphic Design experience, and the ability to meet deadlines and juggle more than one project at once. While Juniors and Seniors pursuing degrees in Visual Communications, Marketing, and Graphic Design sound like natural fits, we are open to other majors.   If you have a passion for learning and contributing to a team – and if you can design and juggle multiple projects at once, we’d love to meet you. 

You’ll tackle projects such as: 

  • Creating and designing print and digital materials 
  • Adhering to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline 
  • Retouching and manipulating images 
  • Using Graphic Design software and work with a wide variety of media 
  • Collaborating to develop design concepts 
  • Assembling final presentation material for printing as needed 
Minimum Qualifications
 
  • Attending an accredited University studying toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or equivalent 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, is required 
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required
