USC Athletics is looking to hire an Art Director to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for creating and designing graphics for the USC Football department. Additional requirements include working collaboratively with the creative content team to deliver recruiting and social content. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Football Marketing, the Graphic Arts Director will work in collaboration with the football operations, recruiting, and personnel departments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites as well as have experience in photography. Additionally, candidates should possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of and experience working in higher education preferred. Understanding of the unique culture and needs of college athletes preferred.

This is an exempt position with work expected in the evenings and assigned weekends.
Roles and responsibilities to include:

  • Create and design all graphic designs for USC Football with a consistent branded content.
  • Create and design all in-house/external/recruiting graphic design needs.
  • Set graphic design brand guidelines for internal/external/recruiting campaigns.
  • Intermediate skills with the adobe creative cloud suite including Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator, and after effects.
  • Intermediate skills with Photography/Studio/Lightroom workflow.
  • Coordinate, organize, and distribute in-season and off-season media calendar graphics for all social media platforms and areas of communication.
  • Assist with official/unofficial visit operations and On-campus recruiting (photoshoots).
  • Assist with and organize game day media needs including photography, in-game editing, organizing media, and card drops.
  • Create and oversee all print campaigns such as posters/mailers/season tickets.
  • Manage graphic design contractors and student workers with day to day tasks as well as project management.
  • Proficient in Logo Design.
  • Utilize digital content distribution services such as recruitesuite/dropbox/google drive.
  • Promotes an environment that fosters inclusive relationships and creates unbiased opportunities for contributions through ideas, words, and actions that uphold principles of the USC Code of Ethics.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to lead by example in regards to communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution's sustainability programs
  • Advanced skills in regards to adobe creative cloud suite and the ability to create digital content in a timely fashion.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail in regards to content editing and distribution
  • Advanced skill in regards to Photography, Videography, Video Editing, Graphic Design
  • Knowledge and attentiveness to USC HR rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as well as bylaws and interpretation of the NCAA
  • Knowledge of Pac 12 recruiting rules and regulations as well as bylaws and interpretation of the Pac 12 conference
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain databases
  • Experience at the Division I level recruiting and supporting a football program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and manage large groups of people
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to understand and not disclose confidential information

Salary Range:
The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
