The Grants Manager will play a pivotal role in securing and managing grant funding to support our mission-driven initiatives.
Position Overview:
The Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the lifecycle of grants, including pre-award, award, and post-award phases. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of grant requirements to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance) codified at 2 CFR 200. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with federal grants and a proven track record of securing grant funding for nonprofit organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Lifecycle Management: Manage all aspects of the grant process, from application to closeout, ensuring adherence to grantor guidelines and organizational policies.
- Project Oversight: Oversee projects and activities funded by grants to meet established goals, objectives, and deliverables.
- Compliance Assurance: Understand and ensure compliance with all requirements outlined in grant awards throughout the duration of the grant.
- Administrative System Establishment: Develop and maintain a robust administrative system to support effective project implementation, including financial management, cost monitoring, progress reporting, procurement, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and assess project progress against established targets, evaluate efficiency in fund utilization, and make necessary adjustments to overcome challenges.
- Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely reporting to grantors and internal stakeholders to measure grant impact and maintain accountability.
- Closeout Procedures: Facilitate proper closeout procedures, including final reporting, audits, financial reconciliation, and documentation submission to grantors.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with grantors through open communication, fulfilling reporting obligations, and demonstrating accountability, aiming to ensure project success and secure future funding opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, finance).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in grant management, with a focus on federal grants.
- Proven experience in grant management or related field, preferably in a nonprofit or government organization.
- Thorough understanding of federal grant regulations and compliance requirements, including the Uniform Guidance.
- Proven track record of successfully securing grant funding for nonprofit organizations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, financial management and grant management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in managing grant-related documentation and reporting.
This position may require occasional travel for meetings or training purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working in a small nonprofit organization.
- Familiarity with grant management software.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and populations.
