The Community Solution Education System is hiring a Grants Management Intern to join the Financeteam. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to learn about Grants Management and gain exposure to accounting tasks. The Grants Management Intern will work alongside The Manager of Grants and Fund Management to support the administration of grants functions in higher education.
The Grants Management Intern will gain exposure to various projects including analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and grant maintenance activities. The Grants Management department currently manages 27 grants, which is a mix of federal, state, local government and private foundational grants and contracts.
This is a paid summer internship (June through August) that is scheduled for 20-25 hours per week. The Community Solution Education System operates on a hybrid remote/in office work schedule. Employees will have the opportunity to experience the collaborative work environment of The Community Solution by being in the office 2-3 days a week if applicable based on location and commutable distance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyze grant activity to correct variances
Prepare billing for grants
Record grant payments
Update grant budget trackers
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Enter any necessary journal entries
Assist with any special projects
Position Requirements:
Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Professional demeanor
Accurate data entry skills
Strong customer service skills
Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Must be able to work collaboratively
Position Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; senior level preferred
