Responsibilities:Grant Writer is responsible for writing grants and supporting activities within the Philanthropy and Communications Department at Over-the-Rhine Community Housing. This position will write grants, track due dates, report dates, and other needed information, and prospect new funders. This position will be responsible for corporate giving efforts including event sponsorships. This position will carry out duties related to updating files and Donor Perfect fundraising software for streamlined philanthropic grant administration. This position does not supervise staff.

Desired Capabilities/Qualities
- Creative and sharp in exploring new opportunities and identifying synergies between funders and programs.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear ideas and closely align proposals and language with funder priorities.
- Enthusiasm for the mission and goals of Over-the-Rhine Community Housing.
- Excellent attention to detail, including project management of multiple projects at once.
- Comfort working with board members, public officials, funders and other professionals.
- Ease meeting and socializing with people from diverse backgrounds and working with diverse populations including low-income residents.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be team oriented in working toward goals.
- Experience with SmartSheet or other project management software a plus.
- Additional consideration given to candidates with:
- Background in Salesforce or another donor CRM
- Proficiency in analyzing data input and outputs for donors and grant tracking and conversions as well as general data management.
Specific Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Philanthropy & Communications to maintain and improve a robust grants management process to ensure consistency in grant preparation, review, and tracking. Support internal communication and awareness about active and upcoming grant opportunities.
- Lead the development and writing of responsive grant applications for federal, state, and private funders. Collaborate closely with colleagues to translate project plans into compelling proposals. Perform final edits on proposals to ensure competitiveness and submit proposals through various electronic systems.
- Collaborate with staff to maintaining project descriptions and preparing impact reports.
- Research and identify potential sources of grant funding to determine eligibility and strategic alignment.
- Work seamlessly within the Philanthropy & Communications team toward our collective goals.
- Cultivate and expand corporate sponsorships.
- Mange in-kind giving
- Other duties as assigned, including event support.
