SLSF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation, formed as the fundraising arm of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA), to provide additional funding needed to maintain quality services, help create innovative programs and facilitate future growth. SLSF works with individual donors, granting organizations, businesses and community organizations collaboratively to ensure the funding necessary to open doors of opportunity for individuals with disabilities through NWSRA recreational programs.
Job Purpose: The Grant Researcher will research, evaluate and complete grants that promote and fulfill the fundraising needs of Special Leisure Services Foundation - SLSF.
Summary of Duties: Below are the responsibilities of the Grant Researcher:
- Research and present potential grant applications to SLSF Team
- Prepare contract and grant forms and on-line templates and, when applicable, assist SLSF in composing and editing correspondence for submission to funding agencies regarding the modification of terms and conditions of awards and other grant related issues such as requests to re-budget, to receive a no-cost time extension, and begin spending prior to award setup, etc.
- Assist SLSF in the preparation of current forms and on-line templates when applicable and assist in composing and editing correspondence for submission to funding agencies regarding changes in terms and conditions of awards and other grant related issues such as re-budgeting, no-cost time extensions, prior approval to spend funds, etc.
- Track proposal status and sponsored research negotiation progress and ensure all necessary documents are completed and submitted.
- Assure that all contract and grant applications are reviewed for appropriateness within the policies of the SLSF and various funding agencies.
- Position works with both public and private submission
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of work-related grants and contracts experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant and/or contract activity
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Position requires professionalism, diplomacy, and a high degree of judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work within strict deadlines, under pressure, and to prioritize
- Analytical ability required
- Ability to use statistical concepts with regard to financial and budgetary procedures
Requirements:
- Have access to grant research database for research purposes.
- Work up to 10 hors per week
- Available for weekly check-in meeting with supervisor
